AFL NOTES: Terrance Dotsy came into his own last season and looks for more of the same in 2008 after he became a reliable offensive threat as a tight end in the Dallas Desperados offense. Dotsy earned All-Arena Second Team honors after compiling 16 receptions for 102 yards (6.4 avg.) and six touchdowns in 2007. He finished the 2006 season with 3.5 tackles, two pass breakups and a blocked field goal attempt in 14 games. He made his AFL debut in 2005 with the Dallas Desperados after signing with the club on Oct. 18, 2004. Dotsy saw time in 13 games and posted 5.5 tackles, two pressures and a fumble recovery on defense while adding four catches for 24 yards and one rush for a one-yard touchdown on offense as a rookie. He came to Dallas after seeing limited time with the Quad City Steamwheelers of af2 in 2004.

AFL 2007 (Dallas): Dotsy made his first start of the season at tight end at New York (3/4) to the tune of two receptions for 20 yards and added his first career touchdown. Against Tampa Bay (3/10) he hauled in a career and season-best three passes for a career and season-high 28 yards and one touchdown. Dotsy had one reception for three yards at Kansas City (3/16). He made one tackle on defense against Austin (3/31). Dotsy scored the first touchdown of the game against Columbus (4/5) on a two-yard touchdown pass from Clint Dolezel. Dotsy notched two receptions for 21 yards against Philadelphia (4/16). He caught his fourth touchdown of the season against Nashville (4/27) on his only catch of the day for one yard. Dotsy tallied two catches for 14 yards with a long reception of 11 yards and one touchdown against Chicago (5/14). At Coumbus (5/26) Dotsy started the game at tight end, but shifted to center after Jeff Chase went down with an injury and did not allow a sack. He made his first start of the season at center at Philadelphia (6/1) and did not give up a sack while also seeing time on the defensive line and had a half tackle. Dotsy started the next two games at center against New Orleans (6/9) and against New York (6/16) before returning back to tight end at Colorado (6/25) where he had two receptions for 14 yards and one touchdown. Dotsy started at tight end against Columbus (7/7) in the Divisional Playoff Game.

AFL 2006 (Dallas): Dotsy began the season in a reserve role against Kansas City (1/29) and recorded one pass breakup then saw time along the offensive and defensive lines at Utah (2/4) but did not record any statistics. At Columbus (2/11) he again came in as a reserve and helped limit the Destroyers to 186 total net yards - the fourth-lowest opponents' offensive production in team history. Against Austin (2/17) Dotsy recorded one tackle and then added another tackle against Las Vegas (2/25). At Chicago (3/5) he saw time as a reserve lineman and did not yield a sack before providing Dolezel enough protection to throw for a season-high 362 passing yards at Tampa Bay (3/12). As a reserve at Orlando (3/19) he helped the offense rack up 353 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns (team record) and 12 total touchdowns (team record). Against Philadelphia (3/25) he recorded one stop before breaking up a pass against Columbus (4/1). At New York (4/9) Dotsy helped pressure Nick Browder into two interceptions. Against Grand Rapids (4/15) he was Inactive/Injured with a knee injury. Dotsy returned to action at Georgia (4/22) and blocked his first career field goal. The block was recovered by Jermaine Jones and returned for an 11-yard touchdown. Against Arizona (4/28) he saw time as a reserve lineman and did not yield a sack. At Philadelphia (5/6) he recorded an assisted tackle while seeing action as a reserve lineman. Against New York (5/12) he helped the offense rack up 378 yards of total offense - including 50 yards on the ground - while helping the defense shutout the Dragons in the first quarter. In the Divisional Championship Game against Georgia (5/27), Dotsy helped Dolezel set team playoff records while the defense forced four turnovers before leaving the game with a hand injury. Against Orlando (6/4) he was Inactive/Injured with the hand injury.

AFL 2005 (Dallas): Dotsy made his Desperados and AFL debut in the season opener against Chicago (1/30) and tallied one tackle. He caught his first Arena pass - for two yards - against Orlando (2/17). He was Inactive/Injured the next three outings, but returned to the field at Los Angeles (3/18) to post a tackle and a pressure while helping to open holes for a season-high four rushing touchdowns and not surrendering a sack in 30 pass attempts. Dotsy caught a 24-yard pass while helping to not surrender a sack in 35 pass attempts against Colorado (3/25) before helping block for 5.4 yards-per-rush against Nashville (4/8). He posted a fumble recovery on a kickoff that bounced off the iron that led to a Dallas touchdown at San Jose (4/15). Dotsy notched his first career AFL touchdown on a one-yard run, his first AFL carry, a catch for two yards and a tackle on defense against New York (4/29) before adding a tackle at Las Vegas (5/7). He added a tackle while helping not yield a sack in 32 pass attempts at Georgia (5/14). He closed out the season against Philadelphia (5/22) with a half tackle.

OTHER PRO EXPERIENCE: 2004 - After graduating from Cal-Berkeley, Dotsy joined the Quad City Steamwheelers June 18 (11 games into the season) and made an immediate impact, recording 4.5 tackles, one for a loss, one sack, four pressures and a forced fumble. He added a 10-yard catch on offense.

COLLEGE: As a senior, Dotsy made the switch to defensive end, but tore the MCL in his knee and did not play. As a junior, he played in 11 games at tight end and caught three passes for 26 yards. Dotsy saw limited action in his first year of football at Cal after transferring from Ventura Junior College. As a freshman at Ventura JC, Dotsy earned Western State Conference honors and the team's Freshman of the Year award after finishing third in receiving.

PERSONAL: Dotsy was a three-year starter at defensive end at Santa Clara, Calif., High School. He also started for the school's basketball team, and he led them to the state championship game as a senior and played three seasons as a pitcher and first baseman on the baseball squad. Dotsy annually participates in the Desperados Impact Player Program by visiting with at-risk youth served by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dallas. He speaks to youth about making positive life choices and the importance of higher education before joining the kids in a game of basketball, air hockey and foozball. Dotsy also volunteers his time at Children's Medical Center Dallas, visiting with sick kids in the hospital's play areas.
